Front Pages of the World

1. My favorite front page was the Watertown Daily Times because I liked the way it was organized and could grab your attention. 2. My favorite headline from that newspaper was "Trump Seeks Compromise" because it was very eye catching and I liked the picture that went with it. 3. There are four major stories on the front page of my newspaper, and they are lengthy stories. 4. I noticed that all the newspapers have the major headline with a picture in common, a story to the column on the right side, and a story that is horizontal towards the bottom. The font sizes look similar on all of the newspapers. Also, there is one major picture with small pictures along the side. 5. Some things I noticed that were different were (obviously) the titles of the stories, and one big difference were how many stories the newspapers chose to fit on the front page. Some newspapers preferred to fit lengthy stories but less of them on the front page, and other newspapers liked to put smaller ex

Shutterbug websites

I chose the website Fstoppers, and I really enjoyed it. The best thing about it had to be the diversity in the articles - there were so many different topics to choose from. There wrote about tips with photography, cameras, how to make a shoot better, insider information about photography shoots, etc. This website had a great layout as well, and was very organized. Every article had a good picture to the left, a title in bold, and a short summary underneath. All of the articles were organized like that in a line, and there were ads for the website and photography related things to the right. This website's intention was to educate and help photographers with tips and shortcuts. A viewer can learn how to act during a shoot, learn quick light room tricks, and helpful shortcuts. I might add this website to my bookmarks, it was helpful to me. I would recommend this website to anyone because it could be helpful for professionals and beginners. Rating: 5/5 Interesting thing:  I

Self portrait vs Selfie

Image
A selfie is a picture taken by  oneself with a smartphone. It's easily disposable and easy to take another 'selfie' if you don't like the picture. A self-portrait is a picture taken with a camera of oneself that has more thought put into it. It usually tries to show an aspect of oneself. I believe the difference is that a selfie is usually taken on a smartphone and a self portrait is taken on a camera, and a selfie is easier to take/more disposable.        I prefer looking at a self portrait because I can better appreciate the art and thought put into it. A selfie is very common, and it doesn't take much talent to take one. I think that the self portrait is more valuable/important because it takes more time, effort, and thought put into it to make a good one, and it's a very valuable photography skill.       However, a selfie can sometimes be a self-portrait in some cases. If the situation is well thought out, then there are certain techniques to have a

Phobia Project

A. a phobia is a type of anxiety defined by a persistent fear of an object or situation B. Acrophobia - fear of heights Anglophobia - fear of floods Arachnophobia - fear of spiders Pyrophobia - fear of fire Ochlophobia - fear of crowds C. My favorite ideas would be fear of heights which is my biggest fear, fear of crowds, and then fear of floods Heights I could go to the graffiti wall and take a horizontal picture of my friend's perspective looking down, scared. This would make a cool picture because of the graffiti. I would take this during the day. Crowds Here at bowie there are so many crowds, so at the end of the school day I could stand at the top of the stairs and take a picture of the huge mass of people heading down to flood the hallways. I would need to be careful and try to include people's faces as well. I'll have one person looking up, scared. Floods I could go to a lake and take a picture of the water creeping up towards my feet with a shadow fa

Favorite pictures of 2017

Image
This was one of my favorite pictures of the year because it represented how the media industry grew and connected with the audiences' struggles more. This shows how much the actresses empathized with the characters they played, and this movie set an example for many outstanding movies to come.  This picture was one of my favorites because of the beautiful symmetry. I love how this picture captures the many conflicting emotions going through Trump's mind with his inauguration. All of the attention is on Trump in this picture, and the doors serve as a gateway to him being the new president. I love this picture and it is one of my favorites because it shows how passionate all the women were in the women's march. When Trump was elected, it was a very vital time for women to step forward, and this photo proves they did. The mass of pink hats and signs all mesh together into one big group of the women's protest.  Interests this year: 1. My favori
