Thing

I like this picture because the purple contrasts nicely with the green, and the yellow in the center of the purple flower is the flower's compliment. The focus of the flower contrasting with the background easily tells the eyes where to go. The flower almost looks like it's jumping out of the picture. The simple background behind the flowers helps to make the plant stand out, and the pop of light purple draws the eye to the center-left of the picture. 

Place

I like this picture because the bright, orange flowers heavily contrast with the dull, grey concrete. The flowers especially draw the eye, caged in with the railing in front. The slight red of the bricks goes with the top of the buildings, also working with the square shape of the brick areas and the square shapes of the roofs.

Person

I like this picture because of the focus on the camera itself. The shiny lens draws the eye's attention to the center of the picture. The angle of the picture, how the person is on top of the stairs, draws more even more attention to her. The red roof and the green tree compliment each other nicely, since they are each other's opposite colors. The fact that they cancel each other out, again, makes the eye go to the dark black camera held by the girl in the center of the picture.
