Page 7 photo essay:
#1: This photo is definitely one of my favorites because I like the stark contrast of lighting with with the subject. The impact of the photo was one of the best because it showed the joy of working with animals.
Rule of composition: Simplicity and depth of field
Main subject: Gabriela Minjares
Yes it is exposed properly
Yes I can see a deep depth of field

#2: This second photo is one with senior Morgan Walk who is filling up vaccines. I like this photo because it shows her determination and concentration.
Rule of composition: Simplicity
Main subject: Morgan Walk
Yes it is exposed very well
Yes I can see some depth of field.

#3: This third photo was very sweet because it's the only one that has one of the animals actual faces on the front. The lighting complements the subjects, and it goes well with the rest of the page.
Rule of composition: symmetry
Yes it is exposed well
Yes I can definitely see depth of field

Page 16 photo essay:
#1: The first photo is a concentrated photo from Chef Richard Winemiller who is making his own baseball stadium. The lighting is good, and it shows his expertise in baking and design of food.
Rule of composition: Balance
Main subject: Chef Richard Winemiller
Yes I can see some depth of field

#2: The photo precision and perfection is one of my favorites on this photo essay because it is so up close to the gingerbread house and the subject. I liked the dark lighting and the simple contrast between the other pictures.
Rule of composition: Simplicity
Main subject: Martin Cervantes
Yes I can see depth of field

#3: This picture, titled a Christmas house, is also a great picture because it captured the students laughing while making their treats. The exposure and lighting was very good. The one critique of mine has to be the white on white is hard to see.
Rule of composition: Lines
Main subjects: Asia Vo and Grace Henderson
I can see a shallow depth of field

Entire paper photo review:

My favorite photo is the photo of Chef Richard Winemiller in 'baking it out of the ballpark'.
This is my favorite photo because of the concentration it shows and how much it lets us see what their process is
The most prominent rule of composition is depth of field, which makes the white on white look less stark.

My least favorite picture in the newspaper is the photo titled 'jump shot' on page 10
it's my least favorite because it has multiple mergers.

I think the photo assignment I'd like to do the most would be the assignment about the new veterinarian opportunity for students. This looked so cool to work and photograph animals, and to photograph things people are passionate about.

I think that the Dispatch has very good photos. They are always in focus, well lit, and have important subjects in them. The one thing to work on would be the amount of mergers from cropping because that's the major thing that I see.
